A Blast From My Past

Today I am adding my Song of the Day:
Francesca Battistelli – “This Is The Stuff
I have had the joyous experience of having my washing machine take a little time off by braking down on me. Thankfully my hubby is mechanically inclined and will be able to fix it, when we are able to afford the parts and then have them ordered and have them shipped. Not to mention he will be doing this with his broken leg. Mean while, I have had the wonderful flash back to my younger college days of doing the laundry in the tub lol. Thankfully the dryer is still in working order. With it still being around 20 degrees outside I would have to be far too creative to figure out how to hang dry everything.
So here is my tub full of far too many towels that I still having to rinse, ring dry and then put half in the dryer and when those are dry put in the other half.
For those of you who may ask, yes we do have a laundry mat, however, being on a very tight budget cannot afford to pay $3.50 a load just to wash. Plus with my family, I do at least 2 loads a day, making that 14 loads a week, which all adds up to $49 a week and $196 in a month.
The good thing about this is I get to use the laundry topic to show you the recipe I use in order to save some money. My family, especially my husband who has migraines and cannot handle perfume smells, are all very sensitive to most detergents, so we have been having to buy some very pricey detergent that seemed not to work at all.
Looking for a better way of saving money, I got on Pintrest (which you will find I am totally addicted to) and found this great recipe. It cost pennies per load, works amazing, and doesn’t bother my family’s skin or migraines. Here is a link to the original blog where I found it. You should really go all through her blog as she has a ton of great ideas to make life easier and more affordable in a more natural way! Click the blog name to get the recipe, you will thank me later!!
God bless,
Jacque Heaton
